Take Action

At the upcoming UC Regents Meeting on September 15-16th at 8:30am, there will be public comment on the reinstatement of the ACT and SAT in the admissions process for all UC schools.

We need all hands on deck to urge the regents to stand strong against the calls for reinstatement, especially given how harmful standardized testing can be for students that are low income, living with disabilities, and come from disenfranchised backgrounds.

Please sign up here by September 11 to make public comment and let me know if you plan to do so.  Here, you will find a link to talking points to aid in public comment. Additionally, here you will find a link to a FAQ published by Professor Jesse Rothstein who currently directs UC Berkeley’s Center for Studies in Higher Education. This FAQ does a great job in refuting the claims circulating about the SAT/ACT and value in terms of student readiness and success.

If you have any questions about getting involved or public comment, please reach out to Tyler directly at tyler@equaljusticesociety.org.
